Ein Ort wird beobachtet – ein Raum geschaffen: das Modell eines Konfliktraums. Ein trilateraler Wachposten in der Pufferzone zwischen Transnistrien und der Republik Moldau wird zur Bühne auf der wir Soldaten und Anwohnern der verschiedenen Konfliktparteien begegnen. Ausgehend vom Mikrokosmos des Postens beobachtet das dokumentarische Projekt eine der absurdesten Grenzen am Rande Europas - eine Grenze an der keiner Schlange steht. Ist der Kalte Krieg und die Teilung Berlins längst Historie, markiert ein Fluss zwischen der Republik Moldau und ihrer abtrünnigen Provinz Transnistrien heute noch oder wieder die Teilung zwischen Ost und West. Das politische Szenario des „eingefrorenen Konflikts“ wird mit jedem Puzzlestück schwerer greifbar: die konkurrierenden Interessen nationaler Eliten, die geopolitische Konfrontation zwischen Brüssel und Moskau, die zentrale wie ambivalente Rolle Russlands bei der Konfliktlösung - und das praktische Miteinander der Menschen. Posten Nr. 6 entwirft das Bild einer Region, die zur Geisel größerer politischer Zusammenhänge geworden ist.
Die Ausstellung rekonstruiert den zentralen Ort und Ausgangspunkt der Beobachtung: den trilateralen Posten Nr. 6. Neben installativen Elementen und einem Modell des Postens ist eine 3-Kanal-Video-Installation zu sehen. Ein nachgebautes Fragment des Postens betont die Künstlichkeit des Szenarios, während auf drei Flachbildschirmen Bilder von den Soldaten mit Bildern der Anwohner wechseln. So entsteht ein Porträt des Posten in all seiner Vielschichtigkeit.
Die Ausstellung ist Teil von Vorspiel 2017, ein Veranstaltungsprogramm der transmediale und des CTM, das Berliner Projekträume, Kollektive und Initiativen vorstellt, die im Bereich von digitaler Kunst & Kultur sowie experimenteller Musik und Sound arbeiten.
Das Dokumentarfilmprojekt wurde unterstützt durch die Stiftung Kunstfonds, die Robert Bosch Stiftung und die Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa.

A place is observed - a space created: a model of a conflict area. A trilateral border post in the buffer zone between Transnistria and the Republic of Moldova becomes the stage for encounters with soldiers and residents of the various conflicting parties. Starting from the microcosm of the post, the documentary project observes one of the most absurd borders at the edge of Europe - a border without long queues. Even though the Cold War and the division of Berlin belong to the past, a river between Moldova and its breakaway province Transnistria still or again today marks the division between East and West. With every puzzle piece the political scenario of the “frozen conflict” becomes more difficult to grasp: the competing interests of the national elites, the geopolitical confrontation between Brussels and Moscow, the central and ambivalent role of Russia in the conflict resolution – and the pragmatic coexistance of the people. Posten Nr. 6 draws a picture of a region that is held hostage by greater politics.
The exhibition reconstructs the central location and the starting point of the observation: the trilateral border post no. 6. In addition to installative elements and a model of the post, a 3-channel video-installation is on view in the exhibition. A partial reconstruction of the post emphasizes the artificiality of the scenario, while pictures of the soldiers alternate with pictures of the residents on three flat screens. The exhibition portrays the post in all its complexity.
This exhibition is part of Vorspiel 2017, a distributed programme of transmediale and CTM partner events happening before the festivals, dedicated to present Berlin-based project spaces, collectives and initiatives that are working in the field of digital art & culture and experimental sound & music.
