WRO Flash is a guided tour through selected events, exhibitions and performances from the 14th WRO Media Art Biennale of Wrocław, Poland. It is a dynamic 40-minute video survey presenting the Biennale’s venues and atmosphere as well as new trends and ideas, creative approaches and issues raised by contemporary art, technology and their role within society and culture.

From the very beginning WRO festivals have been dedicated to audiovisual art created using electronic media, pioneering and popularizing media art in Wroclaw and Eastern Europe. The first edition of the Soundbasis Visual Art Festival WRO took place in December 1989; just a few weeks after the fall of the Berlin wall. Since 1993 the WRO festivals have been held every two years, and in 1995 their name was changed to the WRO Media Art Biennale.
The Alternative Now Edition was a global overview of media art created in the last two years. WRO 2011 Alternative Now opening week events on May 10-15th were followed by selected exhibitions and presentations running through September. The various Biennale events were attended by 200 artists, 800 accredited guests and an audience of over 40,000. The works shown were selected from among over 2000 submissions from artists from all over the world.

WRO Flash is presented by Gosia Sobolewska. Zbigniew Kupisz – co-founder of WRO, as well as Krzysiek Dobrowolski - WRO press officer will be also present.
Also at Akademie der Künste Zbigniew Rybczyński's retrospective exhibition prepared by WRO is still on view.
